Soaking, beneficial rain carries over from last night and into early Friday morning and with it, comes a stiff wind. A coastal low will develop along the Outer Banks through the morning, moving the rain out but providing a blustery Friday. We’ll then look forward to brighter conditions for the weekend!

Track 1
Movin’ Out by Billy Joel
The soaking rain will soon be moving out of Hampton Roads — look for a soggy Friday morning commute with on and off rainfall, occasionally heavy at times. Most of the rain should be moving out by mid to late morning, with stubborn clouds through lunch time. We’re hopeful we can see the sun before it sets Friday evening!

Track 2
Howlin’ For You by The Black Keys
As the coastal low starts to develop along the Outer Banks early Friday morning, a strong northeast wind will blast into the region on the backside of the system. The breeze will be most felt along the Outer Banks, with northeast winds gusting to 30-40+mph not just Friday morning, but all day Friday. Ocean over wash on NC-12 is likely for at least the early morning high tide, with sound side flooding also possible.

Across Hampton Roads, the wind will be most felt at the coast with gusts to 25-30+mph Friday morning and Friday afternoon.

Track 3
Hard Sun by Eddie Vedder
The cool breeze will continues through Friday night and turn into a refreshing breeze Saturday as drier air takes over. This means brighter skies all weekend long! Expect bright sunshine and highs in the 60s both Saturday and Sunday.

Drier weather should hold for at least the first half of next week!
