After late night thunderstorms Sunday night, we’re in for another round this evening as a weakening boundary heads our way. Some of the storms this evening could be strong, so be sure to stay weather aware!

Sunshine takes over for most of our Monday, so any left over puddles or damp roadways will dry out. Highs should climb to the mid and upper 80s with summer humidity in full swing.

We’ll look for thunderstorms to fire off after 2 or 3 o’clock this afternoon. They’ll likely approach the region from the northwest, lasting through the sunset time frame. Heavy rain and damaging wind is possible – stay weather aware!

As the storms move out tonight, dry air will move in from the northwest. Expect slow clearing tonight and lows in the 60s. A fresh northerly breeze guides into a beautifully refreshing Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s with low humidity.

Sunshine, low humidity and cooler weather then unfolds for the rest of the week! We can expect afternoons in the upper 70s and morning lows in the 50s & 60s from Tuesday through Friday.

Stay weather aware this evening, then enjoy the rest of the week! Stretches of weather like this don’t come all that often in August.

Ernesto is peeling off into Northern Atlantic over the next few days – still as a pretty strong system. Waves at our area beaches will be dropping off in size significantly today, but the risk of rip currents remains. Use caution if headed into the water today.

The rest of the Atlantic basin looks pretty quiet this week – we’ll keep you posted on any changes tropically.
