NEWPORT NEWS (WAVY) – Phoebus survived a slow start against Woodside on Thursday night but the Phantoms still rolled to their 36th-straight win after defeating the Wolverines 42-3.

Phoebus got the scoring started on a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown by Davion Roberts.

Woodside put together a couple of impressive drives in the first half, but both ended with turnovers.

Phoebus led 21-0 at the half and added three more touchdowns in the second half.

Phoebus plays Heritage next Friday. Woodside plays Bethel next Saturday.

In other action on Thursday night Poquoson defeated Grafton 28-8 and York defeated Warhill 17-14.
