A stabbing inside a Portsmouth Walmart Sunday morning was the result of a random crime, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WAVY News.

A husband and wife who faced charges after a MOD Pizza employee was stabbed had those charges dropped during a brief hearing Tuesday.

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools confirmed a student was diagnosed with a case of mumps. An email was sent to parents on Sunday.
