The crash happened at 6:41 a.m. on I-664 southbound and blocked all lanes of traffic.

In an update Monday afternoon, police said the crash involved seven vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, and one person was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash was still under investigation, but police said the preliminary investigation found it was started when the driver of a Ford Focus crashed into the rear of a Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu then sideswiped a tractor-trailer, which rear ended a Hyundai Sonata. The Hyundai then struck a Ford Escape, pushing it into a Buick.

Both the drivers of the Focus and tractor-trailer have been charged with following too closely.
