NORFOLK (Va.) – Connor Norby and Kyle Stowers were traded by the Orioles to the Miami Marlins for left handed-pitcher Trevor Rogers.
Both players have been back and forth between Baltimore and Norfolk. Norby was called up by twice by the Orioles, most recently on July 25.
Norby, the Orioles No. 5 prospect, has played 80 AAA games this season where he had 57 RBIs and 16 homeruns. In his MLB debut with the Orioles in June, he went 0-for-3 at the plate, but hit a homerun the next game for his first ever major league hit. He had two homeruns and six hits in 32 at bats in the majors this year, giving him a .188 batting average.
Stowers played 58 games with the Tides, where he had a .240 batting average. He had 55 RBIs and 18 homeruns, the second most on the team behind Coby Mayo. He has 57 homeruns with Norfolk, surpassing Gary Rajsich for the franchise record for homeruns.
