NORFOLK (WAVY) – In front of a packed Joe Echols Hall and with national television audience watching on ESPNU, the Norfolk State men’s basketball team clinched the regular season MEAC championship outright after a 77-58 win against Howard.
The Spartans had already secured the number one seed in the MEAC tournament next week, but Thursday’s win gave NSU a 21st win on the season. Maybe even more impressive? They were undefeated at home this season, 13-0.
The MEAC title is the Spartans third in four years. They shared it after the ’20-’21 season and won it outright in ’21-’22.
