ATLANTA, GA (WAVY) — WOW… Is College Football back.. or what?

Norfolk State got the 757 started off this College Football season with an absolute barnburner against Florida A&M, just falling by a 24-23 final. With a little under six-and-a-half minutes to go in regulation, a Norfolk State touchdown cut the deficit to one. FAMU blocked the extra point, but there was a flag on the play, allowing NSU another try to either tie or take the lead.

Head Coach Dawson Odums drew up a two-point conversion attempt, and Quarterback Jalen Daniels was stuffed three yards out from the endzone.

Former Oscar Smith star, Kevon King was the standout on the offensive end for the Spartans with two rushing touchdowns and 146 yards. However, the play of FAMU Quarterback Daniel Richardson was enough to help push the Rattlers over the Spartans, as he tallied three touchdowns and 286 yards on the day.

NSU will continue their stretch on the road, as they take on East Carolina August 31 at 6 p.m.
