Norfolk native Keyshawn Davis to fight at Scope

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Fans will finally get a chance to see boxing star Keyshawn Davis live on his home turf.

Presale tickets for the event run until Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 11:59 p.m. with code ‘seven.’ Tickets for the general public will start on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m.

The 25-year-old lightweight world title contender and recent Olympic silver medalist will headline a multi-bout event at Norfolk Scope on Nov. 8, SevenVenues officially announced.

Davis (11-0, 7 KOs), who’ll go into the event ranked No. 3 at lightweight by the WBO, IBF, and WBC will take on Argentine Gustavo Lemos (29-1, 19 KOs) in a 10-round fight.

The event will also be streamed live in the U.S. on ESPN+.

“As a young kid growing up in Norfolk, I dreamed of accomplishing enough to headline a card at Scope Arena one day,” Davis said. “My boxing idol is the legendary Pernell ‘Sweet Pea’ Whitaker, and I want to pack that arena like he used to. He’s the greatest from my city, and I’m honored to continue that legacy. I can’t wait to put on a spectacular show against a tough opponent in Gustavo Lemos. Everyone from the 757 will be in my corner.”

Keyshawn’s older and younger brothers, Kelvin “Night Night” Davis and Keon Davis, will also fight. Kelvin (13-0, 7 KOs) will take on Yeis Solano (15-3, 10 KOs), and Keon will make his pro debut in the welterweight division.

Meanwhile the world championship co-feature fight will see WBO welterweight king Brian Norman Jr. trying to defend his crown against Puerto Rico’s Derrieck Cuevas.
