SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Courtesy of JMU Athletics) – Former James Madison forward T.J. Bickerstaff received an invite to the Sacramento Kings 2024 California Classic Summer League roster, the team announced.

The 2024 California Classic is a three-day NBA Summer League event with games in Sacramento and San Francisco, hosted by the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors. The action kicks off on Saturday, July 6, and will run through Tuesday, July 9, with games televised on ESPN, ESPN2, and NBATV.

Bickerstaff – the Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and a second team all-conference selection – was instrumental to the Dukes’ historic season in 2023-24, as he finished the season averaging 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in his lone season at JMU. His field goal percentage of .619 was second in the Sun Belt, and his 302 total rebounds broke a single-season JMU program record.

The six teams taking part in this event will feature rookies selected from the 2024 NBA Draft, sophomores, and athletes competing to make NBA and G League regular season rosters.
