EUGENE, Ore. (WAVY) — All Chesapeake native Quincy Wilson can do is wait.
A former student at Great Bridge Middle School, Wilson ran in the 400 meter finals of Monday’s Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon and finished with a final time of 44.94 seconds.
After finishing in sixth place, the 16-year-old didn’t directly qualify for the team, but there’s still a chance that United States men’s relay coach Mike Marsh could select him as an alternate for the Paris games.
If Wilson were to make the team, he would become the youngest male runner to ever represent the stars and stripes during the Olympics in track & field.
