Netflix’s summer lineup contains 24 films. The genres run the gamut from romance to action and include mega-talent, such as Nicole Kidman, Zach Efron, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Lopez, Melissa McCarthy and more. Here are our top action and comedy picks to watch this summer.

“Atlas” is a futuristic Sci-Fi action movie starring Jennifer Lopez as Atlas Shepherd. Lopez plays an exceptionally intelligent but misanthropic data analyst who distrusts AI due to a traumatic past. Atlas joins a mission to capture a robot intent on eliminating humanity (Simo Liu), with whom she shares a connection. When plans go off the rails, the only hope for saving humanity from AI is for Atlas to trust the very thing that betrayed her.

In “Family Affair,” a surprising romance has comedic consequences for a young woman (Zoey King), her mother (Nicole Kidman) and her Hollywood star boss (Zach Efron). The film explores themes of love, sex and identity.

“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” is the fourth film in the action comedy franchise. Detective Axel Foley, played by Eddie Murphy, teams up with his daughter (Taylour Paige), a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals from the previous films to unearth a conspiracy.

In “The Union,” an action comedy, Mike (Mark Wahlberg) is a construction worker living in New Jersey who reunites with his high school sweetheart, Roxanne (Halle Berry). She recruits Mike for an intelligence mission in Europe, featuring spies and high-speed car chases as their chemistry sizzles.
