North Carolina  is holding General Elections on Nov. 5, 2024. Polling hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. NC voters can check their registration status using the Voter Search tool on the State Board of Elections website. The first day of in-person early voting at your local registrar’s office in North Carolina is Oct. 17, 2024.

Offices up for election in 2024 in North Carolina include:

  • U.S. President/Vice President, U.S. House of Representatives, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Attorney General, Agriculture Commissioner, Labor Commissioner, Insurance Commissioner, State Senator, State Representative, N.C. Supreme Court Justice, N.C. Court of Appeals Judge, Superior Court Judge, District Court Judge, District Attorney, County Commissioner, Clerk of Superior Court, Register of Deeds
  • A constitutional amendment to amend the constitution of North Carolina to provide for citizens-only voting is on the ballot statewide.
  • Currituck County, NC voters will weigh in on a Local Sales and Use Tax Referendum. It will be the final question on the ballot. If the referendum passes, Currituck County plans to use the funding for public safety departments, including the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office and Fire-Emergency Medical Services. The winner of the Presidential election between Kamala Harris (D) and Donald Trump (R) in North Carolina will receive 16 electoral votes.
