Election Results Map: Who is winning the presidential race

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Millions of Americans have submitted their votes for the next President of the United States.

Polls close on Election Day in Virginia at 7 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. in North Carolina. Results are expected to start coming in as early as 8 p.m. on the East Coast.

Voters are choosing between sending Republican Donald Trump back to the White House or to elect current Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

To win the presidency, a candidate needs to receive at least 270 electoral votes.
