RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police Department has released dashcam footage of a protest march that took place on Broad Street two weeks ago, which features individuals throwing objects at a VCU Police vehicle.

According to VCU, a protest march took place on Broad Street at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13. Several individuals can be seen on video throwing rocks and other objects at an occupied VCU Police vehicle that was monitoring the protest and recording dashcam footage.

The protest began in Monroe Park, and individuals used improvised weapons to assault police during the march, according to VCU Police.

One person has been arrested and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer.
