Derrick Anderson addresses Virginia, national issues in DC News Now Virginia 7th Congressional District Candidate Forum

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Derrick Anderson, Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, joined DC News Now for the 7th Congressional District Candidate Forum on Monday to discuss issues affecting people who live in Virginia as well as national and international topics.

DC News Now offered Eugene Vindman, the Democrat against whom Anderson is running, an invitation to participate in the forum. Vindman did not accept the invitation.

During the course of the forum, Anderson talked about a number of items, some of which Virginia voters said were among their top issues heading into the election in November, including housing affordability and abortion.

Additionally, Anderson fielded some lighter questions from DC News Now anchors Chris Flanagan and Susan Tran, offering answers to whether a weekend getaway for him would involve a trip to Virginia Beach or Charlottesville, which amusement park was better: Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Kings Dominion, and what his go-to diner order is.
