NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — One man was shot in the chest and another was struck in the leg in what police believe was the same shooting. 

Police say they were dispatched to the 700 block of 34th St. at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday and found the man who was shot in the chest, a 28-year-old with life-threatening injuries. 

Moments later, they received a second call for help in the 3500 block of Wickham Ave. and found a 20-year-old man shot in the leg. His wound is believed to be non life-threatening. 

Both were taken to the hospital. 

Police say at this time it seems the two men were shot in the 3300 block of Marshall Ave., but they fled to different locations. 

No suspect information or motive is available at this time, but police ask anyone with information to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
