BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A second suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting at a birthday party in Bertie County has been arrested. 

WAVY sister station WNCT reports authorities took 29-year-old Jashawn De’Andre Brown, aka “Southside”, into custody in Greensboro.

Brown was wanted for the muder of Rayshon Carter on Jan. 6. 

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office said Carter was shot at a birthday party being held at a community building. Carter was flown to flown to Greenville, North Carolina, where he later died.

Brown’s arrest comes Franklin police arrested 28-year-old Tywan Jonshea’ Outlaw, aka “Too-da-loo”, in mid-January.

The sheriff’s office said Outlaw is faced with charges including accessory after-the-fact, and has prior convictions for violent crimes.
