NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A woman is facing charges for allegedly assaulting and threatening to tase her boyfriend in Newport News.
Newport News police say there was a call around 2:30 a.m. Sunday of a woman who would not let a man leave a home on Columbia Drive.
Officers spoke with a 22-year-old man, who said he had gone out that night with his girlfriend, 21-year-old Jewel Anna Carroll.
The man said he and Carroll got into a fight at home, where she reportedly slapped and spit on him.
Police say the man also reported she threatened to tase him if he tried to leave. Carroll was arrested and charged with abduction and assault on a family member.
