HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run at the intersection of Whealton Road and Todds Lane.
Police said Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a pedestrian accident shortly after 7 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a 15-year-old female lying in the roadway. Members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue pronounced her deceased at the scene. Another person, an adult female, was transported with non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were crossing the roadway when they were struck by a passing vehicle.
The suspect vehicle is described as a white utility-style van, last seen traveling eastbound on Todds Lane.
Todds Lane was closed in both directions at Whealton Road.
