NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Newport News that left a woman injured.

Police said 23-year-old Tyhem McCallum and 29-year-old Kwamaine Davis are both facing malicious wounding, use of a firearm in a felony and possession of firearm by felon charges for a Sept. 30 shooting on Turlington Road.

A  44-year-old woman was sitting outside when the shooting started. Police said she tried to get away, but a bullet hit her in the ankle.

Police arrested Davis and McCallum on Thursday.

Davis has warrants for probation violation and a failure to appear.
