CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One student was injured and another was taken into custody after an incident at Meadowbrook High School on Tuesday.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, officers are investigating a reported stabbing that took place at Meadowbrook High School. The injured student was transported to a local hospital. A suspect — also a student — is in custody.

Police said there is no further threat to the community at this time as there are no suspects at large.

The school was placed on lockdown, but buses transported students home at the regular time.

In an update shared by Chesterfield Schools, a spokesperson said after-school activities at the high school had been canceled, and additional student support services staff members were assisting students at the school.
