HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY)– Hampton Fire and Rescue responded to a fire Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, crews were dispatched to the 400 block of Sonora Drive just after 2 p.m. for the report of a residential structure fire. Units reported heavy black smoke visible in the area prior to reaching the home.
One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Hampton Police Division, Animal Control, Dominion Virginia Power, Virginia Natural Gas, and Newport News Fire Department assisted with the fire.
