GRANDY, N.C. (WAVY) — A SONIC Drive-In in Grandy, North Carolina, donated $10,000 to local public schools.

The SONIC Drive-In located at 6453 Caratoke Highway was selected in this year’s top 12 crews in the nation for customer service. Each year, thousands of SONIC Drive-In crews across the country compete against each other over for several months in a series of trainings and competitions.

In honor of this achievement and to further the Grandy Drive-In’s commitment to its community, the SONIC Foundation is contributing funding to classroom projects in the area, which were submitted by local public school teachers through Donors Choose.

Schools that received project funding on behalf of the Grandy Drive-In team include:
