NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) — Nags Head Fire Rescue responded to two substantial house fires Monday.

The first fire occurred at 9313 Eagle St. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found flames coming from the upper levels of the home.

Crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to neighboring homes.

As crews began to clear the scene, another fire was dispatched at 200 West Tarpon Court.

The Southern Shores Fire Department arrived on the scene to find a well-involved exterior fire that had spread to the inside of the home. Crews again were quickly able to bring the fire under control.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of both fires.
