ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Elizabeth City Police arrested two 18-year-olds in connection with a shooting at a convenience store.
It happened on Sunday, Aug. 4 around 2:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on the 300 block of S. Hughes Boulevard. When officers arrived on they scene, they were told that a juvenile was waiting in line to purchase a drink when three suspects entered to store brandishing handguns.
Steven Moore Jr. and Zavion Simpson and both been charged with carrying a concealed gun and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
One of the suspects allegedly fired at the juvenile by as he ran from the store. No one was hurt but the store’s sunglass case and ice cream machine were damaged in the incident.
Moore and Simpson were later identified as suspects and both were given $150,000 secured bonds.
