Norfolk Botanical Garden offers free admission in light of Va. Beach tragedy

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Botanical Garden is offering free admission, a place of healing, after the tragedy in Virginia Beach on Friday.

Throughout the week starting today through Friday, June 7, Norfolk Botanical Garden is offering free admissions to anyone looking for a place of solace after the Virginia Beach shooting that took 12 lives.

The garden will be opened after work from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., free to everyone seeking a place of healing.

Norfolk Botanical Garden is home to 60 themed gardens that spans 175 beautiful acres. The garden offers diverse attractions through tram, boat, or walking tours.

A spokesperson with Norfolk Botanical Garden says the garden could be used as “a sanctuary providing healing, hope and reflection to all who visit.”
