New wild horse born on the Outer Banks

COROLLA, N.C. (WAVY) – The folks at the Corolla Wild Horse Fund say a baby boy was born after another horse passed away.

They named the colt Castano II.  In Spanish, Castano means brown, chestnut, auburn.  They also chose the name to honor a previous horse, named Castano.

The colt’s birth comes days after another horse passed away of colic, which is an inflammation or blockage in the stomach or intestines.

The Corolla Wild Horse Fund is an organization that raises money and takes care of the Wild Horses that roam the beaches of Corolla and Corova.
