WASHINGTON (WAVY) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will honor the women who inspired the hit movie “Hidden Figures.”
Celebrating Women: Katherine Johnson Breaks Barriers
Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson and Dorothy Vaughan all worked at NASA’s Langley Research Center in the 1950’s and 1960’s — and made significant contributions to the space race despite the challenges of segregation and gender bias.
The trio will be recognized this afternoon at the House of Representatives’ annual Women’s History Month reception.
