PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Navy Federal Credit Union says its mobile app and online banking are back in service following an outage.

The credit union first posted about the outage on its social media accounts Wednesday morning. Access to accounts was later returned by the evening hours.

A Navy Federal spokesperson issued the following statement regarding the outage:

“Earlier today our members were unable to access their accounts due to a system outage. We worked hard to restore services, which are back up and running at this time. We know this has been frustrating for our members and apologize for the disruption in service.”

Wednesday’s outage comes months after the credit union experienced delays with account deposits, which prompted many people to voice their concerns on social media.
