Book your afterlife stay in Beetlejuice home: Airbnb

(WJW) – Grab your “Handbook for the Recently Deceased” and pack your bags for a trip to the afterlife! Which in this case is also New Jersey.

Delia Deetz is hosting a stay at her iconic home in “Beetlejuice” (and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”) that was previously owned by the Maitlands.

It’s part of the Airbnb Icon program.

The experience will transport guests into the world of Beetlejuice via Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Here’s the description that sounds like it came right from Delia Deetz herself:

“You’ll be visiting my magnificent home, the house on the hill. I took the Maitlands’ grotesque old place and gutted it years ago, turning it into the glorious masterpiece you see today.”

Here are some highlights from the listing:

“I hereby invite to my home any artistic soul that wishes to make the pilgrimage…the interior is unparalleled, curated by none other than yours truly, rescued from the pedestrian eye of its previous owners.”

It also includes a warning.

“Peek through the keyholes, but don’t open any doors unless you want to be eaten by sandworms.”

“I’ve warned you many times, but if you say HIS name, don’t be surprised to find yourself in The Afterlife.” Be warned.

So how much does this experience cost?

It’s free to request. And it is not overnight. It’s for a 3-hour visit.

Here’s how it works:

Request to book

Choose your dates, add your guests, then answer a question about why you want to go.

Selection process

Potential guests are randomly selected, their answers reviewed for “unique perspectives” that may get them on the shortlist.

Requirements

You’ll need an active Airbnb account and the app to participate and be a resident of an eligible country or region.

Submitting a request to book is free, but if you’re selected, no travel costs are included, and you’ll have 24 hours to complete the purchase.

The contest closes on Nov. 5.
