PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY/Nexstar) — Several area restaurants are showing thanks to Veterans by offering free items and meals. Veterans Day is celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 11 this year. Check with the individual business for details on the dates and details of their promotion.

Applebee’s: Contact your local Applebee’s to learn about any Veterans Day offerings in your neighborhood. Visit Applebee’s website for details.
Bubba’s 33 in Chesapeake: Free meals for all veterans and active duty service personnel – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
California Pizza Kitchen: All Veterans and Active Duty Military receive a free entrée on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
Carrabba’s Italian Grill: All Service Members and First Responders to receive 10%* OFF with any visit. Visit Carrabba’s website for details.
Chili’s: All veterans & active military members can get a free meal on Veterans Day November 11, 2020 at all participating Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants. Available for in-restaurant only. Please call ahead to your local Chili’s restaurant if you have any questions about your Veterans Day meals.
Denny’s: Free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5 a.m. to noon for active-duty, inactive military and veterans with a valid military ID or DD 214. Dine in only.
Dunkin: Free donut for all veterans and active duty military – all day
GO bird: The new chicken spot in Portsmouth is offering veterans and active-duty military members a complimentary chicken sandwich combo on Veterans Day.
Golden Corral: Active or former military members can pick up a promotional card at participating locations during November that are redeemable for a free “thank you” meal. The reason for the change from free meals on Veterans Day to the monthlong promotional card is because of COVID-19.
Little Caesar’s: Veterans and active-duty military can get a free $5 Hot and Ready lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Starbucks: This Veterans Day, Starbucks is honoring those who have served with a free tall hot brewed coffee for veterans, military service members and military spouses at participating U.S. Starbucks stores on Nov. 11. Starbucks is also donating 25 cents for every cup of hot brewed coffee sold that day to support the mental health of military communities.

Great Clips: Visit a U.S. Great Clips salon on Nov. 11 and receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card to use at a later date. Haircut cards are redeemable until Dec. 11 2020. At participating U.S. salons, while supplies last.
