NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A New York man will spend 20 years in prison for importing drugs in Hampton Roads, flipping them for guns and trafficking those guns to New York, according to court documents.
40-year-old Shannon Poulson imported heroin and methamphetamine into the region from outside the state for three years, court documents state.
Poulson sold the drugs or traded them for dozens of guns, which he then took to New York to sell for a substantial profit, according to court documents.
The case was part of Project Sage Neighborhoods (PSN), a multi-jurisdiction, community-driven program designed to reduce violent crime and make neighborhoods safe, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
