SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police have identified a suspect in an early morning shooting in Suffolk on Dec. 9.

Suffolk police said officers were called to the 300 block of Spruce Street just after 1:18 a.m. and arrived to find man at the scene with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man was assessed on scene before he was flown to an area hospital via Nightingale, police said. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have since identified 40-year-old Travis Chalk as a suspect in this case. He is wanted for aggravated malicious wounding, shoot cut or wound, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon and discharge of a firearm in public.
