VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk man has been charged with murder in the death of a man who was found dead in Virginia Beach last July.
Virginia Beach police said kayakers found the body of 19-year-old Jairo Armando Sanchez-Guardado, of Chesapeake, in the Lake Smith area of Virginia Beach.
Members of Virginia Beach’s Homicide Unit launched a suspicious death investigation in July 2018.
Police said in an update on Thursday 25-year-old Willian Alberto Oliva Rodriguez, of Norfolk, is charged with second-degree murder in connection to Sanchez-Guardado’s death.
Rodriguez is being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond
