YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – After asking the public for help, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office has announced the name of their new K9.
According to a press release, the 15-month-old German Shepherd was selected last week and the office had their current K9 handlers each submit one name that the public could choose from. They then asked the community to submit their votes for which name they would like for the pup.
After what YPSO says was a close vote, they have announced that the name for the new K9 will be Nitro! YPSO says Maverick came in as a close second.
