YORK, Va. (WAVY) – Beginning on Tuesday, parts of Penniman Road will be closed as part of the ongoing construction on the Penniman Road Roadway Improvements Project.
The long-term closure, expected to be in place until August of 2025, will impact Penniman Road between William Carter Road and Alexander Lee Parkway.
Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will have signed detours in place for motorists, directing them to use Government Road and Humelsine Parkway in order to access Alexander Lee Parkway and Penniman Road.
There will also be U-turns in place prior to the closures on Alexander Lee Parkway and Penniman Road.
The current closures in place on Government Road and Penniman Road will be lifted prior to the upcoming closure.
