YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A 13-year-old has been taken into custody by York-Poquoson deputies in connection with a school shooting threat.
Just before 7 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office was made aware of a threat to shoot up the York High School homecoming dance by someone who had seen the threat on social media.
Deputies and school administrators were able to identify the person responsible for the threats.
After an interview, deputies took the teen into custody on charges felony, threats of bodily injury to persons on school property.
The 13-year-old is being detained at the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center.
