PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings across the region Thursday.

There was another chance for flooding Friday.

The warning was issued until 5:15 p.m. When driving, a good rule of a caution to use is if you can’t see the road, don’t drive through it. What can appear to be a small pool of water can be several feet deep, and cause cars to get stuck.

Parts of North Carolina, such as Gates County, were also under a flash flood warning.

The rain came down fast and heavy Thursday afternoon, which resulted in flash flooding in some areas, including Virginia Beach.
