NEW KENT, Va. (WAVY) — Two people are dead after a single-vehicle on I-64, on Nov. 8, in New Kent County, police said.
Around 11:30 a.m., on Nov. 8, Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on westbound I-64 at the 206-mile marker in New Kent County that resulted in two fatalities.
36-year-old Eric Upshaw was operating a 2003 Kenworth T800 when a tire blew, causing the truck to run off the road and strike a tree. The vehicle then caught fire. Upshaw and his passenger, 40-year-old Randall Cooper succumbed to injuries at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
