FAIRFAX, Va. (WAVY) — Two Virginia State Troopers rescued a 40-year-old woman from a vehicle that was sinking into retention pond on I-66 in Fairfax County.
When the Troopers King and Foret arrived on the scene, they found the woman trapped inside of the submerged vehicle.
The troopers jumped into the pond and were able to get the woman out through the vehicle’s sunroof.
Once out of the water, the woman was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
Both troopers were evaluated by EMS due to the cold temperatures.
The crash remains under investigation.
