VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A vehicle sustained significant damage as the result of a fire on Interstate 264 eastbound near Independence Boulevard Saturday evening, according to Virginia Beach Fire.
The first unit was dispatched to the scene around 7:16 p.m. and arrived about five minutes later.
When the first unit arrived, VBFD said the vehicle was fully involved, with a man, woman and child leaving the scene of the fire. No one was injured, and a VBFD investigator is at the scene.
The fire on Interstate 264 closed one lane, the right shoulder and the entrance ramp, the Virginia Department of Transportation said.

The incident is at I-264 mile marker 16.8, with first responders on the scene as of 7:30 p.m.
Traffic appeared to be moving slowly in the three left lanes near the scene of the fire.
