VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A teacher at a Virginia Beach high school is facing charges of inhaling drugs and public intoxication.

Virginia Beach police said officers were called to a crash in the parking lot of a Walmart on Lynnhaven Parkway in the early morning hours of Feb. 10.

Police said an officer found William Stravino inside a car, along with four canisters of canned duster and two large bottles of Nyquil.

A spokesperson for Virginia Beach City Public Schools confirmed Stravino is an English teacher and wrestling coach at First Colonial High School. Stravino has been suspended without pay since Feb. 11.

Stravino is expected to remain suspended until this case is resolved.
