VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man has died and a woman is facing charges following a shooting on Lake Edward Drive, in the area of Baker and Newtown roads, Thursday in Virginia Beach.
According to police, the call for the shooting came in around 4:02 p.m. in the 800 block of Lake Edward Drive. When officers arrived on the scene, they found 26-year-old Josiah Chambers suffering from a gunshot wound.
Chambers was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police say they arrested 24-year-old A’Lycia Coleman on the scene. Coleman is now facing charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Virginia Beach Police confirmed Chambers and Coleman have a child together.
According to online court documents, Coleman was arraigned Friday and has a bond hearing scheduled for Aug. 1.
