VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after a woman was fatally injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Virginia Beach.
The call for the crash came in around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Rosemont Road and Bow Creek Boulevard. The woman, identified as Barbara Messenger, died at the hospital.
The other driver, 21-year-old Zachariah Moore, wasn’t injured and stayed at the scene.
The investigation from Virginia Beach police found that Moore was speeding at the time and he was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. Police did not say exactly how fast he was traveling.
He’s currently in jail in Virginia Beach on no-bond status. The case is still under investigation.
