VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Drivers in Virginia Beach can expect traffic delays on South Birdneck Road starting Monday due to construction work related to Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project.
Crews say to expect lane closures and daytime traffic delays on South Birdneck Road near Bells Road for the construction work.
Crews will be working along the roadway, but the city said at least one lane will remain open in both directions to keep traffic moving.
Pedestrians and cyclists will still have access to sidewalks. The construction work is expected to continue through May 2025, so plan ahead and allow for extra travel time in the coming months.
