Man arrested after Dec. 27 shooting near Virginia Beach Convention Center

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man was arrested after another man was shot December 27 near the Virginia Beach Convention Center, police say.

The shooting happened before 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of Parks Avenue and 19th Street, next to the Convention Center.


The victim was transported to the hospital and survived, but police say he suffered permanent impairment.

Police later arrested 28-year-old Alexander Woodall and charged him with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was booked into Virginia Beach City Jail on Thursday.
