Norfolk man charged with DUI after seriously injuring bicyclist in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a truck Tuesday afternoon in Virginia Beach, police said.

The crash happened in front of the Burger King around 3:10 p.m. in the 5500 block of Princess Anne Road, according to a Virginia Beach police spokeswoman.

The bicyclist, 67-year-old Paul Mozley of Virginia Beach, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He suffered a head injury and some broken bones, his family said.

He was riding the bike near his home at the time of the crash.

On Wednesday, police said they had charged the driver, 38-year-old Stephen Eugene Davis, with DUI. He’s from Norfolk.
