VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The BEACH IT! Festival is back on after thunderstorms caused the festival to be evacuated.
According to a tweet, the festival will re-open around 6:45 p.m. Scheduled performers Madeline Edwards, Tyler Braden, Brothers Osborne and Luke Bryan are expected to perform their full sets.
The festival site was cleared around 5:15 p.m. Sunday due to inclement weather.
Ahead of the festival, crews built small sand dunes along the beach to help prevent high tides from reaching any of the festival equipment.
This is the second high profile festival at the Oceanfront this year impacted by bad weather. Something in the Water had multiple delays and even had to cancel the last day because of high winds and rain.
