VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection to a Nov. 10 Newtown Road shooting that left another 15-year-old in serious condition.
After an investigation, officers arrested a 15-year-old boy Nov. 14 in connection with the shooting and charged him with malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
According to officials, just before 7 p.m. Nov. 10, officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of West Hastings Arch in response to a ShotSpotter alert.
Officers arrived to the scene and found a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was then taken to a local hospital to be treated for serious injuries, police said.
Photos from the scene showed a heavy police presence.
The incident remains under investigation.
